“What App Is That?”

I can’t seem to go a week without an email, instant message or text asking the details off Apps being used to promote our events. Apps are of such high interest that many people refuse to even share their sources when they find an awesome one. It’s as if you would have to give up your first born just to get details on a few image or video editing apps that usually cost less than five dollars.

Yes apps are that costly to some, a life for a cheap app.

None the less, the combination of great quality iPhone and iPad apps can help you and your events stand out from the average promoter, just posting images over and over again.

Now before we get into the details of the individual apps, let’s go over a few quick tips that can take your use of these applications to another level.

Key Tips for Your Instagram Applications

Buy The Proper Version

Nothing spells amateur more than having some App watermark over your photos or videos you’re using for marketing. Every time I see a Flipagram watermark over a promoter’s image I cringe. You’re making hundreds and even thousands of dollars from your events and you can’t spend under $3 to look professional? Shame.

Make your marketing look polished and professional. If you can’t make that small investment, maybe you shouldn’t be in the event marketing business or any business for that matter.

Iphone Apps Can be Used on iPad

If you’re using your iPad to post your event marketing, some of these apps may not be available to you. A simple workaround for that is to switch your search to iPhone in the search listing and download the app to your iPad.

We’ve had no big issues with trying this with applications we download and work with.

Play Around With Them

Just like anything, it may take a few tries before you’re truly happy with the output from the apps. No you don’t have to be a rocket scientist, however the ins and outs of the applications can take some getting use to. Play around, find settings you like and stick to them.

Combine Apps

For a truly unique look and feel for your marketing, find ways to merge the output of the different apps. You could edit images to look awesome in one image app, then use that same image in a video, frame and animation app.

Don’t be like the others that uses 1 app and get stuck looking cookie cutter like every other marketer. Be unique and use apps together.

Giving Credit

This should go without saying, but some of us may need a quick reminder. If you’re going to save and use images, video and music from others, make sure you give some credit to them. If they’re on Instagram, tag them. If not all you have to do is use credit to: … really simple.

You don’t want to go using other peoples’ content without regard and end up with some nasty cease and desist messages via email. This has happened, it’s the internet, it makes the world that much smaller.
